We Need More Book Lovers

The event involves a group of women reading aloud from themed books, poems and novels, entirely in the nude

According to a recent Pew Research Center Report, nearly a quarter of American adults had not read a single book in the past year. This is clearly distressing news. But there are a number of ways to get American’s to start reading again. I’d like to present a rather interesting one: Nude Book Clubs.

It’s apparently a “tastefully-executed event [involving] a group of beautiful women reading aloud various books, poems and novels… in the nude.”

(L-R) Abigail Collins, Sophia St. Villier and Mysti Vine have a giggle during a readingThey’ve already started one in Chicago. Maybe a few more local chapters will reintroduce Americans to their love of the printed word? Read all about it here.

Tell me all about it: Would you participate in an all nude book club?

  1. …ha! No way! And while 1-in-4 seems a lot of people who are not admitting to reading books, we still have 3-in-4 who are reading, and that’s not too bad. I do wish more people would read poetry. Speaking of which, there are ‘poetry brothels’ where you can go to have poetry read to you, one-on-one (though not in the nude). I like that idea. I like the whole idea of being read to — if the bok-clubs you describe were not in the nude, I’d be all for that. 🙂 I love being read to, and most people I know do too.
