Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful November! But since it is November, I know that many of you are having a terrible, tiring, hands cramping kind of day.
Because November is the time for NaNoWriMo, or in laymen’s terms, ‘National Novel Writing Month.’ May of my fellow writers (myself included in 2013 and 2011) survive the next 30 days on nothing but a diet of coffee, caffeine pills, and the written word. The goal is to write a 50,000 word ‘novel’ in this short span of time, which if you’re good in math, you know comes out to 1,667 words per day. That’s about 7 pages, double spaced. That’s right, 7 pages. Each. And. Every. Day.
It’s a challenge, and way more difficult than it seems. I can attest to that, having failed in my NaNoWriMo attempts twice already. But it’s also a whirlwind, and can be inspiring and invigorating, if you do it right.
This year, I’m busy finalizing the first draft for my second novel, so I’ll only be participating in NaNoWriMo in solidarity. To everyone who has taken the challenge: good luck!
